Target Audience:
This webinar is designed to increase pharmacist’s knowledge, skills and abilities to provide a comprehensive patient-centered dementia care. It will cover etiology, clinical presentation, disease course and management of common types of reversible dementias and an acute- and sub-acute-onset of cognitive decline. The most frequently observed potentially reversible conditions identified in patients with cognitive impairment or dementia are depression, adverse effects of medications, alcohol use disorder, normal pressure hydrocephalus, anemia, and metabolic conditions like hypothyroidism and nutritional conditions such as vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this application-based activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss common causes of reversible dementias and cognitive impairment.
- Recognize common reversible dementias and cognitive impairment based on the presenting features, clinical course and dementia workup.
- Based on a clinical scenario, recommend appropriate assessment and treatment plan.

How to Earn Credit:
Post-Test: You will have 3 attempts to achieve a 70% or higher on the post-test assessment.
CPE Credit: You must complete the post-test and evaluation within 365 days post purchase or by the expiration date, whichever occurs first to receive credit. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website.
