Target Audience:
This webinar is designed to increase pharmacist’s knowledge, skills and abilities to provide a comprehensive patient-centered dementia care. It will cover etiology, clinical presentation, disease course and management of common types of reversible dementias and an acute- and sub-acute-onset of cognitive decline. The most frequently observed potentially reversible conditions identified in patients with cognitive impairment or dementia are depression, adverse effects of medications, alcohol use disorder, normal pressure hydrocephalus, anemia, and metabolic conditions like hypothyroidism and nutritional conditions such as vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this application-based activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss common causes of reversible dementias and cognitive impairment.
- Recognize common reversible dementias and cognitive impairment based on the presenting features, clinical course and dementia workup.
- Based on a clinical scenario, recommend appropriate assessment and treatment plan.

BCGP Credit: Per the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), all pharmacists seeking BCGP Recertification have ONE attempt to achieve a 70% or higher on the 10-question post-test.
CPE Credit: Learner must successfully complete the post-test and the evaluation assessment by its expiration date to earn credit for this live webinar.ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website prior to course completion.
