Plein Memorial Lecture: Integrating Deprescribing into Care Delivery: Learnings from Recent Research
Drs. Bayliss and Gray will discuss research that Dr. Bayliss and colleagues have conducted to better understand the effect of providing patients and clinicians with education about deprescribing including the results of a pragmatic clinical trial of deprescribing education and a national survey of physicians. They will also discuss methodological factors affecting our ability to generate deprescribing evidence using large populations and electronic data including identifying meaningful exposures and outcomes from clinical data, and conceptual approaches to assessing causal associations between deprescribing and adverse drug events and adverse drug withdrawal events.

- Employ population-level approaches for identifying target populations and measuring deprescribing progress
- Incorporate patient- and clinician-centered evidence to communicate about deprescribing with patients and care partners

Senior Care Pharmacists who provide expert advice on the use of medications to individuals and older adults and are committed to providing person-centered care, considering the complex interrelationships between disease states, nutrition, medications, and other variables.

The participant is responsible for providing their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website.
