Pharmacogenomics in Older Adults
Nearly 400 FDA approved medications include pharmacogenomic information in their drug labeling, and greater than 90% of the population has a clinically actionable pharmacogenomic variant that can impact their medication outcomes. This continuing education webinar will identify medications used in older adults with data supporting the use of pharmacogenomic guided prescribing recommendations. Clinical pharmacogenomic practice guidelines will be reviewed and patient cases will be presented to demonstrate how pharmacogenomic data can help individualize pharmacotherapy in older adults.

- Identify medications commonly prescribed to older adults that have pharmacogenomic data in their drug labeling and clinical pharmacogenomics practice guidelines
- Analyze the relationships between genes and drugs commonly prescribed to older adults
- Apply the pharmacogenomic guided therapeutic recommendations outlined by clinical practice guidelines for medications used in older adults
