Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this application-based activity, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss the range of socioeconomic status in today’s older adult population and how this impacts access to health care in older adults.
- Compare and contrast the disparities in health status between older adults with low socioeconomic status and those with higher socioeconomic status.
- Select appropriate tools (assessment, technology, communication) to assist with the provision of pharmaceutical care.
- Provide input to other members of the interdisciplinary team based on assessment of socioeconomic barriers to care.
- Develop a plan of care based on assessment of different aspects of socioeconomic status i.e. medication adherence, level of care.
