TARGET AUDIENCE
Beyond age 75, clinical practice guidelines are unclear about use of statins for primary prevention. The purpose of this presentation is to explore the evidence (or lack thereof) for use of statins in primary prevention among older people in order to better inform clinical decision-making.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this application-based activity, participants should be able to:
· Review current clinical practice guidelines for use of statins for primary prevention among older people
· Evaluate the evidence for initiating statin therapy among adults aged 75 years and older
· Identify appropriate indications for deprescribing statin therapy
· Compare risks and benefits of statin use in older people

education@ascp.com for a manual upload.
CPE & BCGP Credit: You must complete the post-test and evaluation by the expiration date to receive credit. You have three attempts to achieve a 75% or higher on the 8-question post-test. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website.
