TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity will include active learning with patient cases and is designed to provide clinicians, senior care and consultant pharmacists the tools necessary to manage monoclonal therapy and care for their elderly patients.
In recent years senior care staff have found themselves on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially no therapies were available and as the pandemic has continued an ever-increasing emergency authorization of front-line monoclonal therapies have been authorized for use. Monoclonal therapy is likely to continue with an ever-increasing number of approved monoclonal therapies for various indications. The learner will be guided through recent epidemiological trends, diagnostic considerations, recently released literature, and explore several caveats in the management of these therapies. This activity will include active learning with patient cases and is designed to provide clinicians, senior care and consultant pharmacists the tools necessary to manage monoclonal therapy and care for their elderly patients.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
At the conclusion of this application-based activity, participants should be able to:
- Review monoclonal antibody clinical development from murine to human.
- Evaluate outcomes from clinical trials regarding safety and efficacy of monoclonal antibodies.
- Apply best practices in the use of monoclonal antibodies in patients with COVID-19 based on current evidence and guidelines.
- Recognize infusion and adverse reactions associated with monoclonal antibody therapy.

HOW TO EARN CREDIT
Post-Test: You will have 3attempts to achieve a 70% or higher on the post-test assessment.
CPE Credit: You must complete the post-test and evaluation within 365 days post purchase or by the expiration date, whichever occurs first to receive credit. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website.
