Target Audience:
This activity will provide an overview on management strategies of motor fluctuations with emphasis on novel therapies including new medication classes, and improved drug delivery of dopaminergic therapy including wearable devices. It is crucial that geriatric pharmacists are knowledgeable about strategies to promote optimal quality of life for those suffering from PD to provide high-quality PD care, counselling and education.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this application-based activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss common motor complications in Parkinson disease.
- Describe the strategies for management of motor fluctuations in Parkinson disease and understand their place in therapy.
- Describe the clinical pharmacology and efficacy of newly approved medications and devices for management of motor complications in Parkinson disease.
- Based on a clinical scenario, recommend appropriate treatment plan for motor complications in Parkinson disease.

How to Earn Credit:
BCGP Credit: Per the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), all pharmacists seeking BCGP Recertification have ONE attempt to achieve a 70% or higher on the 10-question post-test.
CPE Credit: You must complete the post-test and evaluation by its expiration date to receive credit. No exceptions or extensions permitted. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website.
