Target Audience:
For BCGP and senior
care pharmacists who want to learn an update on recent hearing aid access
changes in the marketplace, and how to help senior patients with their hearing.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this Application-Based activity, participants should
be able to:
- Describe the clinical evidence that supports why seniors can benefit from hearing aids and devices.
- List the regulations and updates regarding use of purchase of hearing aids and devices in the consumer marketplace.
- Demonstrate how pharmacists can discuss hearing aid devices with senior patients in different practice settings.
- Given a patient case, provide recommendations on different hearing aid devices.
The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

How to
Earn Credit:
BCGP Credit: Per the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), all
pharmacists seeking BCGP Recertification have ONE attempt to achieve a 70% or
higher on the 10-question post-test.
CPE Credit: You must complete the post-test and evaluation by March 1, 2021 at 11:59 pm ET to receive credit. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website.
