Target Audience:
This webinar is
intended for senior care pharmacists who are interested in learning more about
federal advocacy and those interested in attending an ASCPCongressional
Fly-In. This webinar will discuss legislative and regulatory advocacy as it
pertains to working with members of Congress and select healthcare agencies.
The webinar is intended to provide a foundational understanding of the federal
legislative process.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this knowledge-based activity, participants should be

- Identify the arguments that drive legislation in promoting advances to the practice of long term care pharmacy.
- Recognize ways to communicate with members of Congress and their staff to advocate for policies that advance the long-term care practice.
- Differentiate the ways that legislation can be influenced by external stakeholders.
- Identify key legislative actions that benefit the federal policymaking process.

How to Earn Credit:
Post-Test: You will have unlimited attempts to achieve a 70% or higher
on the post-test assessment.
CPE Credit: Please note: you must complete the post-test and evaluation by February 1, 2023 to receive credit. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website PRIOR to course completion.
