Target Audience:
This
session will provide a brief overview of the role of USP in setting standards
for compounding and an update on the upcoming revisions to compounding
standards. These include revisions to <795> Pharmaceutical Compounding -
Non-sterile Preparations and <797> Pharmaceutical Compounding -
Sterile Preparations. Participants will also receive an overview of General
Chapter <800> Hazardous Drugs - Handling in Healthcare Settings.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this knowledge-based activity, participants should be
able to:
- Discuss the role of USP in setting standards for compounding.
- Identify the relationship between USP Compounding General Chapters: <795>, <797>, and <800>.
- Identify major changes proposed for public comment in the <795> and <797> revision proposal.
- Discuss major elements in General Chapter <800>.
- Discuss timelines and next steps for understanding and implementing the revised standards.

Earn Credit:
Post-Test: You will have unlimited attempts to achieve a 70% or higher
on the post-test assessment.
CPE Credit: You must complete the post-test and evaluation within 365 days post purchase to receive credit. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website.
