Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this Application-Based activity, participants should
be able to:
- Describe the current approved indications and recommended duration of therapy for PPI use.
- Interpret the evidence regarding adverse effects of long-term PPI use and building a case for deprescribing.
- Apply appropriate tapering regimens to avoid return of symptoms after PPI discontinuation.
- Discuss indication driven alternatives to PPI therapy.

How to Earn Credit:
BCGP Credit: Per the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), all
pharmacists seeking BCGP Recertification have ONE attempt to achieve a 70% or
higher on the 10-question post-test.
CPE Credit: You must complete the post-test and evaluation by August 1, 2019 at 11:59 pm ET to receive credit. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website.
