This webinar provides a review of the most current best practices regarding maintaining glycemic control in older adults with diabetes, as well as a comprehensive foundation for the individualization and optimization of insulin injection techniques to help ensure that appropriate blood glucose targets are maintained, with minimal risk of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia - with the latter being the most critical. It builds on basic principles of insulin delivery to the circulation, as well as recent updates in understanding of the consequences of variations in injection devices, insulin type and preparation, and techniques. It culminates by explaining clearly and concisely how to implement the specific recommendations that resulted from expert analysis of worldwide data gathered by the international Injection Techniques Questionnaire (ITQ).
