Audience:
This activity has been designed for pharmacists and nurses interested in establishing an antimicrobial stewardship program in their long-term care practice setting.
Learning
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this application-based activity, participants
should be able to:
- Describe the seven elements of the federal regulation, F881 Antibiotic Stewardship Program (ASP).
- Establish an interdisciplinary team committed to an ASP.
- List quality indicators and data elements supporting ASP and a quality assurance/performance improvement (QAPI) program.
- Identify medication-related problems relevant to the principles of ASP.
