Target Audience:
This activity is intended for pharmacists working in the community or long-term
care setting who interact with senior patients suffering from symptoms of
headaches and migraines.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this application-based activity, participants should be
able to:
- Describe the pathophysiology of headache disorders that may affect the senior patient.
- Differentiate between the diagnostic criteria along with signs and symptoms of various headache disorders affecting older adults.
- Recommend prescription, over-the-counter and nonpharmacologic treatment options for the management of various headache disorders in the elderly.
- Evaluate assessment tools, clinical guidelines and evidence-based literature for therapeutic selections.
- Apply recommendations and goals to patient cases.

How to Earn Credit:
BCGP Credit: Per the Board of Pharmacy Specialties
(BPS), all pharmacists seeking BCGP Recertification have ONE attempt to achieve
a 70% or higher on the 10-question post-test.
CPE Credit: You must complete the evaluation by February 1, 2018 at 11:59 pm ET to receive credit. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their member or guest profile on the ASCP Website.
