Tips for Navigating the Self-Assessment Exam Website
- If you click on the pencil icon at the top middle of the page, under where it says BCGP Prep, you will be able to access the entire SAE. You will need to change the default number of questions from 35 to 175 to access the full 175-item test.
- The other option is to access portions of the test from the content map in the middle of the page. You can select specific parts of the content map from the three domains and just look at questions from the sections of each domain. This way you can look at related questions together. Again, the default number of questions is 35 so if a section has more than 35 questions, you can change the default to look at all the questions at one time.
- All questions are set to a difficulty level of 3.
- When you are looking at exam questions, you will see a blue rectangular button at the top left of the screen with the label “View Lab Values”. You can click this button at any time to bring up a list of laboratory reference values.
- If you feel there is a discrepancy with any questions, please click the flag icon at the bottom of the screen to alert us.
- When you are finished with an exam section, or the entire test, the computer will score your answers and give you test results. The “Details” button at the top of the page will allow you to see the questions again and each question will have an “i” logo next to it. Clicking on that logo will bring up an explanation of the answers to that item.
- Clicking on the “Details” button at the bottom of the page will bring up a graph that shows the history of your scores on that particular test.
- Click on the stack of books icon to reference the BCGP exam content map.
